Engineering A Success Mindset
Did you know that success is a mindset? Most people believe that success is reserved for a select few born lucky or possessing natural talent and abilities. You don’t need to start with natural talent or abilities to succeed. Anyone can learn to develop their skills, but you do need to possess the right mindset. This mindset includes having a positive attitude, a healthy self-image, and resilience in facing adversity.
Unfortunately, many people give up on their dreams at the slightest difficulty or perceived failure. If we view failure as a learning opportunity to improve upon past results, we can continue striving for our goals despite the obstacles. Consider that your mindset is like a muscle that needs to be strengthened and conditioned, and by working on your psyche and cultivating a positive attitude, you will set yourself up for success.
Limiting beliefs keep us tethered to doubt, which affects our feelings and behaviors and ultimately sabotages our success. We falsely believe we must do more, be more and work harder to succeed. This belief stems from feelings of unworthiness, and unfortunately, no matter what you do, it never feels like you’ve done enough or are enough. This pattern of thinking invariably leads to lack, overwhelm, and burnout. When we learn to release and let go of limiting thought patterns, we begin to recognize our inherent value, and the success that once eluded us seems to drop in effortlessly. Synchronicities start to show up, and the right people and circumstances appear at precisely the right time. What was once out of reach becomes attainable.
You can break the chains of doubt that keep you bound to a small life by challenging belief structures that don’t serve you and begin designing a self-image that feels good and aligns with the person you want to become. Without a positive identity, reaching the level of success you desire is next to impossible, but when you change the image of who you think you are to the person you want to become, your results will follow. What would it look like if you already had the success you crave? How would you act?
What would you be doing and with whom? Most people get tripped up here because they are hardwired to act from negative thoughts and fall back into old paradigms. A negative self-image can have a mighty stronghold, so you must become more in love with your future than your past. The more substantial feeling of the two will win every time. Define and visualize with intense clarity the ideal image of the person you want to become, and start acting as if you already are that person.
You don’t have to know how to achieve your end goals, but if you take action toward your desires, the next steps will emerge. Stay persistent, and know you have the power to engineer a success mindset.
